Christmas is all around...
Christmas gift time!!
This may be the only one I'll actually finish, but hey, there are limited hours in the day.
This one is a novelty for my friend AJ, and did not take much time, but it is fun and will be sure to get a laugh.
I bring you.....

The ipod cozy!

Kind of makes me wish I had one of my own.
And since I do not have my very own shiny ipod, I had to guess at the knitted size, but thankfully apple has the dimensions posted on their website. Hence that fabulously stylish index card placed inside.
Knitted in Bernat's eyelash yarn, this gift is soft and fuzzy and will keep the ipod toasty warm.

That is brilliant! I especially like the little windows. And I can't tell you how useful it'll be to keep her Pod from getting nicked in all the wrong places!
I wonder if I shouldn't knit a couple of those, too... Hmmmm...
Thanks Axe!! It was easy as a wink.
I came up with my plan for the windows one night just before falling asleep. Actually implementing the plan was tricksy due to the fact that the yarn is so furry that you can barely find your stitches, but all in all it was quite simple.
I basically knitted up a rectangle slightly larger than the ipod itself (according to the dimensions on the website), folded the bottom up about half an inch and stitched the sides.
Then I picked up one stitch on the right side about halfway between the top and bottom, knitted it, did a backwards cast on of a few stitches, then picked up one stitch on the left side and knitted it to connect the ends to form the window. Then I cast off those stitches.
I repeated the same thing on the top to form the second window. This way the top is open to slide the ipod in.
Great ipod cozy. I love the furry yarn.
